80 Years Ago, Our Ancestors Took a Leap of Faith...

It has been 80 years since D-Day, the Allied invasion of Nazi occupied France and beginning of Operation Overlord.

For Hitler, it was the beginning of the end.

For us, it was the beginning of a new day. A more hopeful day. One which their children could grow up in without threat.

Sometimes we just don’t think about how important days like these are. They had no idea who was going to live to see the other side of the battle. This amphibious invasion was the biggest in history, and extremely dangerous.

I mean, in 1944 nobody could see ahead, and know that in 2024 they had won, and that Nazism and Fascism hadn’t spread across the globe.

That took an extreme amount of courage, to take a leap of faith and hope in one of the darkest times of all history.

You may not be a history nerd like I am, but you don’t need to be to appreciate the sacrifice and bravery of our ancestors….

Or the unquestionable faithfulness of our God.

Please share this post with your friends, because remembering our past is very important, and make sure to give a prayer of thanksgiving at some point today! As always, Ad Lucem.
