Wow. This is a super oddly timed post! Christmas is just around the corner, but first we have to let Thanksgiving have it’s glorious day! November is a very busy month on Keepers of Light and Legend blog, what with all the extra posts and things we have to get done before Christmas month. I figured it would be a great idea to give you all a quick update on everything that’s happening! And make sure to stay tuned to the end of the post for a huge Christmas surprise!
Writing:
Right now I’m juggling a bit of a hectic existence with school, a musical, work, and the like. When I’ve had the time, I’ve been working on a high fantasy in a snowy setting about a king and a peasant learning to work together to escape a fortress. A side project of mine (because for some reason historical fiction comes more easily to me) is a new WWII novel about a German socialite who gets left behind in Berlin just as the borders are closing, and how she finds a new purpose in the midst of the brewing war…
November Writing Challenge:
We’re still going! Don’t forget. If you can send me a screenshot by the end of the month of your word count reaching 20,000 words or more, you’ll get the chance to have your first chapter edited by me!
The Dreaded Book Quilt:
Having very little time, I have not touched my project much recently but hope to make major progress over the holidays.
Upcoming Book Launch:
A young writer by the name of Maya Pawley will be releasing a brand new fantasy book entitled Where the Tunnel Ends. Curious? Here’s the blurb:
One girl.
One key.
One destiny.
Fourteen-year-old Laura is just an ordinary teenage girl living a normal, everyday life in 1920s America. One day when she finds a key and map hidden under a floorboard in her bedroom, she doesn't suspect anything important. But little does she know that the map leads to a door…
…and the key unlocks a world behind it—Lileria.
That's when Laura meets Kara and Noah, two twins who quickly become her best friends. However, someone in the twins’ family doesn't quite trust her, due to a broken world that the Enemy threatens to control.
Can Laura prove she’s not a spy?
As Laura explores the world of Lileria, she makes startling discoveries. What seems to be a harmless key that leads to another world is really a sacred treasure—one that connects Elves, Dwarves, and Humans.
And the Enemy wants it.
