“The heavens declare the glory of God;” so begins Psalm 19:1. If all of creation worships him, why is there such bad stuff in the media these days?
One answer is, the world is winding down. Eventually, the final chapter in earth’s history will come to pass: the worst times since Noah’s. But even in the midst of the chaotic news, grotesque zombie movies and glorified super stars we often find (if we look hard enough) pieces of light shining through the darkness, like stars in the night’s sky.
My purpose is to get you to see these bits of light through movies we love. At times, even I am surprised at how much light can be found in a secular culture such as ours.
After watching two Marvel movies for the first time, and noticing (in the most unlikely of places) Truths that run deep in our beliefs and issues that tie into our spiritual battles, I have begun to look for God in the movies I watch. It is my hope that you will too.
