Do you love to write? Does your mind just overflow with stories? Well, if so, you've come to the right place!
This month, July, The Keepers of Light and Legend Blog is hosting a short story contest! And the best news? The top two stories will be featured on the blog! All you have to do is follow these guidelines:
Keep your story to a maximum of five pages, plus a page with your name and preferred email address (we promise to use your email address respectfully).
To enter the contest all you have to do is copy and paste your story into an email and send it on over to lelevens129@gmail.com (please use my email respectfully. I don't have the time to go through spam). You can only enter once.
Keep content warnings to a minimum. (If you're on the Young Writer's Workshop, the rules that apply there for posting stories is a good standard to use).
Make sure to enter your story before July 17th, 2024. Sign-ups end at midnight on that day. Anything after will not be considered for the contest.
Please be a good sport! If your story is not selected, please be kind to the winners. There will be other contests in the future!
Have fun! Writing is supposed to be a joy for us, the young writers. Speaking of which, if you know of another young writer who might enjoy having a short story featured on a blog, please share this with them!
What should I write about?
One of the most wonderful things about writing is that you can write about anything and everything! Write about a mouse in a dystopian world. Write about a knight in a pizza parlor. The genre and storyline are your choice! We would prefer, however, if you enter original story ideas. (i.e. no fan fiction, if you please). Judging will be based on prose, storyline and overall story. Genre will not be influential in the final decisions.
When will winners be announced?
Winners will be announced July 20th, 2024. If you are a winner of the contest, we will then contact you with some interview questions for your introduction to the blog!
Please make sure to share this with other young writers in your life! Happy writing! God bless! And as always, Ad Lucem!
